She insisted on helping to make her OWN birthday cake- but we kept the decorating a surprise!
 
 She loved it SO much that she stared at it for quite a while discussing it before she even thought about blowing out  the candles!

Our sweet Simon fell asleep saying sweet things to Blessed Mother this evening...

He loves praying the rosary.

Carrier Qualified

It was an exciting 2 days out at the boat qualifying. The goal was 10 traps, 4 touch and goes, a 2.5 GPA and at least a 60% boarding rate which allows for 9 wave offs or bolters - landing past the wires an thus not trapping. Tuesday I trapped 4 times and had 3 touch and goes, but used up all 9 of my wave offs and bolters, leaving me with a %44 boarding rate.
I needed a 100% boarding the next day for 6 traps and a touch and go scoring 3.0 on each pass.
So, Wednesday I came out and gave them a touch and go, 5 traps, another touch and go for pattern interval and the last trap with no issues scoring 3.0 on all and a 4.0 on the last.
Thanks for the prayers. They were needed to pull that one off.

James: 100% Hook trapped today!!!! Hooray!

Yesterday, not so good. While always safe, only caught the hook 33% of the time. He missed some by only 2 feet. Today, he got the hook down and trapped 100% of the times. CATAPULTING off the carrier, on the other hand, he said was fabulous fun!

James has his first ever aircraft carrier landing today! All prayer hands on deck! He is in Jacksonville, Fl. He has a flight briefing in late morning. Should take off around 1 pm and should be landing on the carrier at 2:00 pm. Offer your masses and pray. He has called for prayers, smart young man that he is! He knows enough to depend on God. His guardian angel will be flexing some muscle! We can lend a shoulder into the effort with our prayers.
